Dropobox has implemented a new feature called Smart Sync. Previously, if you were to manage the disk space on your computer, you were limited to one feature called Selective Sync. When you use this feature however, the folder is no longer visible in your Dropbox folder on your computer.
With Smart Sync, it downloads an ‘image’ of the file so that it appears as if it is on your computer, but it will not be downloaded until you open the file. The image or shadow copy takes up minimal space. This feature may be enabled by default by your organisation.

3.Select "Local” and the folder will begin to download to your computer.
