The Non Profit Success Pack from Salesforce allows not for profit organisations to track their funds to General Accounting Units. This is for 'earmarking' donations for specific purposes. For more information on the standard NPSP GAU allocations functionality, please see this documentation.
ProntoPlus extends this functionality to products in Salesforce. This means that you can assign the proceeds from selling a product or merchandise to a particular cause.
Setting up GAU Allocations on a Product
In the ProntoPlus app, you can access your list of products. On each product, you can go to the Related Tab and create a new Product Allocation.
1. Create a new product.
2. Set up the Standard Pricebook (as reference), then set up an additional Pricebook which can be accessed from the Opportunity.
3. Create a new Product Allocation.
The Product Allocation is the joining object between the Product and the GAU. By selecting both of these here, and then specifying the percentage or amount to be allocated per transaction, you can set where the funds from purchasing that product will go.
If you are creating multiple Product Allocations for a Product, make sure the total percentage does not exceed 100%.
